The Grove is one of five cottages at Ty Poeth. Set in the heart of Wales, this group of cottages are in a unique peaceful situation, surrounded by five acres of garden with lawns overlooking the Dyfi valley on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The River Dyfi and the Aran Fawddwy mountain range meet and lead out to the beautiful coast of Cardigan Bay. Ty Poeth is only about 10 minutes’ drive from the market town of Machynlleth - a busy place steeped in history, home to the world famous Centre for Alternative Technology. The beach at Aberdovey is within half an hour and it takes not much longer to reach the university town of Aberystwyth on the coast or to drive into the Snowdonia National Park and see some of the most dazzling mountain scenery in the UK.

The gardens at Ty Poeth were created a hundred years ago and have planted borders with a wide variety of plants and shrubs and an abundance of wildlife. There are four separate lawns, perfect for picnics on sunny days and for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Paths through the woodlands and along terraces are perfect for strolls or as places for children to play. Each semi-detached cottage is private with garden views.

The Grove sleeps 4 in 2 first floor bedrooms: one double and one twin which overlooks the lawn with its hundred foot Wellingtonia tree. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and basin. On the ground floor, the sitting room has exposed beams and a wood burning stove. There is a TV and radio/CD player. The kitchen includes an electric cooker, microwave and fridge freezer and a dining table with seating for 4. There is a veranda furnished with outdoor seating which overlooks the garden.

Additional heating is by convector heaters. Electricity is included. The first bucket of fuel for the stove is provided; thereafter it is available at £3 per load. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Bed linen is provided but please bring your own bedding for the cot. Please bring your own towels. Towels can be provided on request for £3 per set of one bath towel + one hand towel. Use of a washing facility is available on request at a charge of £5, which includes drying. There is parking for one car. One well-behaved pet is welcome but must not be left alone in the cottage. There is no smoking permitted in the cottage. There is a shop and a pub within one mile.
